The Water Diviner

The Water Diviner

Russell Crowe is set to make his directorial debut in 2014, as he brings The Water Diviner to the big screen.

Crowe is one of a group of actors who are moving behind the camera for the first time this year, and I cannot wait to see what he delivers.

The first footage from The Water Diviner has appeared online as part of a fantastic seven minute featurette about the project.

The movie not only gives us a first look at the movie, but also takes us behind the scenes and is narrated by Crowe as he talks about what drew him to the story:

As well as being in the director's chair for the film Crowe is also set to star, as he takes on the central role of Connor.

An all-star cast has been assembled for the film, as Jai Courtney, Olga Kurylenko, Yilmaz Erdogan, and Isabel Lucas are all also on board.

Written by Andrew Anastasios and Andrew Knight, The Water Diviner follows an Australia man who travels to Turkey to find the bodies of his three sons, who died during the battle of Gallipoli.

No release date for the movie has yet been announced, but it promises to be one of the dramas not to miss.

Crowe has become a real great in front of the camera, and I cannot wait to see how he transfers all of that talent and experience to the director's chair.
