When it comes to movie stars sending hearts fluttering, the young guns are not having it all their own way... as the more mature gentlemen are showing that you can look fantastic while enjoying major box office success.

Will Smith in Focus

Will Smith in Focus

Will Smith is back on the big screen this week with his new film Focus, and we are set to play homage to those actors that are still looking smoking hot in their forties.

- Will Smith (46)

There has been a major lack of Will Smith on the big screen in recent years, but he is back this week as he teams up with Margot Robbie for heist film Focus.

Smith has always been a popular actor with female film fans with his good looks, charm, and terrific sense of humour... however, the Oscar nominated actor does seem to be getting better with age.

And the ladies are in for a treat in Focus as we are going to get to see just how hard Smith has been working out for the role - he really does look in terrific shape.

We are also going to be seeing Smith in Concussion later this year, while Suicide Squad is also in the pipeline for the actor - filming is set to get underway in the spring.

Smith is an actor who has enjoyed huge box office success during his career, and Focus could well be another huge hit this weekend.

- Daniel Craig (46)

Daniel Craig in Casino Royale

Since taking on the role of 007 back in 2006, Daniel Craig has seen his star rocket. Not only did the role of James Bond make Craig a global superstar, but it also make him a major pinup - we all remember when he walked out of the sea in Casino Royale in those tiny trunks!!!!

Casino Royale, Quantum of Solace, and Skyfall also showed that Craig was a terrific action man as well as a great actor - and he has got in shape again to play Bond for the fourth time in Spectre.

Filming on the new Bond movie is currently underway and will see the actor reunite with director Sam Mendes. However, we are going to have to wait until October before the film hits the big screen.

Away from Bond, we have seen him mix and match his roles with The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, Defiance, The Golden Compass, and theatre work in recent years.

Craig is one of those actors who has just gone better with age and it will be a major shame when he finally walks away from the Bond franchise.

- Hugh Jackman (46)

X-Men: Days of Future Past

Hugh Jackman is a bit of a favourite here at FemaleFirst and a bit of an all-rounder when it comes to showbusiness.

Not only has he enjoyed success on the big screen, but he has also thrived in the theatre - he can sing, act, and dance - not to mention he looks terrific while doing it.

It was the role of Wolverine in X-Men back in 2000 that put Jackman on everyone's radar, and he has since gone on to reprise that character in six other movies.

Jackman piles on the pounds of muscle for the role of Wolverine - and is not afraid to show off the results on film. As well as a fabulous piece of eye candy, Jackman also happens to be a terrific actor with a Best Actor Oscar nomination under his belt.

That nomination came for his role as Jean Valjean in Les Miserable - which also allowed him to show off his singing skills. Prisoners, The Prestige, and Australia are other movies that have allowed him to deliver terrific performances.

Jackman will be back next month with sci-fi film Chappie, while Pan is also set to hit the big screen this year. Pan will see Jackman play his first villain as he has been cast as Blackbeard.

- Robert Downey Jr (49)

Iron Man

At the age of 49, Robert Downey Jr has already enjoyed a career that has spanned thirty years; however, it is 2015 where he finds himself at the height of his powers.

Downey Jr has great looks, bad boy, arrogance, and humour all rolled into one - which makes him one of the coolest Hollywood stars. Downey Jr beat the drink and drugs to turn his career around... and it was the role of Iron Man that propelled him back onto the A-list.

No one else could play Tony Stark with the same power and mischief that he does - bear in mind that Tom Cruise was almost cast in this role - and it is his charism that has made Iron Man the billion-dollar franchise that it is.

The Sherlock Holmes movies have also been a huge success for the actor, as well as terrific performances in the likes of Chef and The Soloist, has made his box office gold.

Downey Jr will be back on the big screen this year with Avengers: Age of Ultron - his first film since The Judge in the autumn of last year. He is also set to reprise the role of Tony Stark in Captain America: Civil War, which is due to start filming shortly and will be released in 2016.

- Matthew McConaughey (45)

Magic Mike

Matthew McConaughey was known as a rom-com actor who was always taking his shirt off for most of his career... but then he changed the path of that career and showed us what a terrific actor he was.

McConaughey is quite simply one of the most beautiful men on the big screen... and this is a man who has done nothing but get better with age.

And while whipping his shirt off in all of his rom-coms was a major treat, I much prefer the new direction that his career has taken in recent years.

While films like The Wedding Planner and How To Lose A Guy in 10 Days are lots of fun, grittier parts such as Killer Joe and Mud have had the critics raving.

However, it was his central performance in Dallas Buyers Club that was to change his career forever, as he went on to win the Best Actor Oscar last year. He has also enjoyed major success in TV recently with hit crime drama True Detectives.

The actor will be back on the big screen later this year with The Sea of Trees, and he is currently filming The Free State of Jones with director and writer Gary Ross.

- Jeremy Renner (44)

The Bourne Legacy

Jeremy Renner may have had an acting career that has spanned twenty years, but it was with his performance in the Hurt Locker back in 2009 that he really made his breakthrough.

Since that Oscar nominated performance, Renner has gone on to become a major action star with Avengers Assemble and The Bourne Legacy under his belt. He has also turned in some terrific dramatic performances as The Town earnt him a Best Supporting Actor Oscar nomination back in 2010.

His chiselled good looks has made Renner a popular figure on the big screen as well as one of the most in demand actors in Hollywood.

We will see Renner back on the big screen in Kill The Messenger, before he reprises the role of Hawkeye in the highly anticipated Avengers: Age of Ultron. He will also be back as William Brandy in Mission: Impossible 5.

Other actors that are still looking better than ever since the big 40 include George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Jason Statham, Mark Wahlberg, and Johnny Depp.

Focus is released 27th February.
