The Paperboy

The Paperboy

If there is one thing we appreciate Hollywood for, it is creating movie scenes which involve our favourite celebs donning little but their underwear, complete with a perfectly toned six pack naturally.

Not only is The Paperboy the first BIG cult film of the year to hit the UK, it also features a scene with Hollywood heartthrob Zac Efron in his underwear. Need we say more?

In eager anticipation of the upcoming release of The Paperboy, we gladly take a trip down memory lane as we look back at some of the spiciest movie scenes involving hotties in their underwear, compliments of our favourite Hollywood stars.

- Tom Cruise in Risky Business (1983)

He may be a bit cray cray now as one of the many Hollywood stars to officially go off the deep end, but we will forever recognize Tom Cruise as the master of the underwear scene.

Classic film Risky Business gave teenage boys everywhere the confidence they needed to dance around in their underwear while lip syncing to Bob Seger’s ‘‘Old Time Rock and Roll.’’

As the original, Tom Cruise’s performance in Risky Business remains one of the best underwear movie scenes of all time.

Despite his obsession with scientology and seemingly bizarreness, we thank Mr. Cruise for making the collared button down, tall socks and underwear a staple Halloween costume for years to come.

- Matthew McConaughey in How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days (2003)

Before Hollywood A-Lister Matthew McConaughey stars as reporter Ward Jansen in upcoming film The Paperboy, he played ad man Benjamin Barry alongside Kate Hudson in chick flick How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days.

The bathroom scene marks the pair’s first real kiss as ‘‘couple’’ as they stare playfully into each other’s eyes, laughing sweetly as the undress one another of wet clothes.

We hope he can be just as sexy in his detective business as he does his best to prove that a death row inmate was framed for the murder of a local sheriff. We can just not get enough of that sweet Texas accent y’all.

- Ryan Gosling in The Notebook (2004)

As the most successful Nicholas Spark’s novel to be adapted for the silver screen, The Notebook is regarded as one of the greatest love stories of all time.

The Notebook follows the love story of Allie (Rachel McAdams) and Noah (Ryan Gosling) from its beginning as teenagers in South Carolina. We first see Noah in his 1940s panties as the then real life couple nearly makes love for their first time.

As the summer comes to an end, so does their relationship, as Allie’s parents insist that Noah is not an appropriate match for their upper-class sophisticated daughter.

Several years pass until Allie and Noah randomly meet again and rekindle their passion for one another, in which we appreciatively see Noah in his underwear again as they make love, this time for real.

"Behind every great love is a great story." Thank you Nicholas Sparks, we couldn’t agree more.

- Jude Law in The Holiday (2006)

As one of the loveliest romantic comedies we’ve seen since the millennium, The Holiday features one of our favourite Brits as well, the absolutely positively adorable Jude Law.

Along with leading lady Cameron Diaz, the duo could not be any cuter as they spontaneously meet during Holiday in Surrey and develop feelings quickly, despite the complications in their own lives.

As the ultimate rom com, The Holiday shows that random meetings spurred by a meaningless hookup can develop into something more. Ok we all know that really probably just happens in movies but a girl can dream right, especially when it involves Jude Law?

- Justin Timberlake in Friends with Benefits (2011)

In an effort to avoid the clichés portrayed in Hollywood rom-coms, Dylan (Justin Timberlake) and Jamie (Mila Kunis) put the old adage ‘‘friends with benefits’’ to the test as they attempt to be just that in the 2011 film Friends With Benefits.

We see JT in his underwear quite a few times as the friends vow to have casual sex without becoming emotionally attached.

Complications arise as expected begging the question, can you be just friends with benefits?

- Ryan Gosling in Crazy, Stupid, Love (2011)

Hannah (aka Emma Stone): "Take off your shirt."
Jacob (aka Ryan Gosling): "Why?"
Hannah: "Will you take off your shirt?"

Ryan Gosling pretends like he reluctantly agrees as he reveals his perfectly chiselled abs for our viewing pleasure (aka the BEST scene ever)
Hannah: "Seriously, it’s like you’re photoshopped."

Although his underwear is not actually revealed in this particular scene, we make an exception for Ryan Gosling’s overall performance in Crazy, Stupid, Love and encourage you to use your imagination as to what is underneath.

Although you might consider asking Steve Carell as he had the pleasure of Ryan Gosling’s entire ‘’schfonz’’ right in front of his face. Ahh.

- Channing Tatum + Matthew McConaughey in Magic Mike (2012)

Viewers see stripping on the big screen like never before in comedy Magic Mike. ‘‘Work all day. Work it all night’’ is the motto of the Tampa based dance team, Xquisite.

Although many scenes leave you LOLing and even perhaps shouting among fellow movie goers "Oh no they didn’t?!"

Magic Mike provides countless scenes of countless men in nothing but their underwear. Magic Mike gives us two of the hottest bods in Hollywood dancing for a good 2 hours while only in their underwear? We can’t complain.

- Zac Efron in The Lucky One (2012)

Zac Efron shines together with Taylor Schilling in The Lucky One, based on the bestselling novel of the same title.

After serving three tours of duty in Iraq, U.S. Marine Sergeant Logan is determined to find a woman from a photograph, a photograph he believes is the reason he survived an attack on the front line.

Logan travels to find this woman, Beth, and soon develops a relationship with her, giving him faith that Beth is the lucky one he was destined to find.

The say a picture is worth a thousand words, look no further than the one below.

- Zac Efron in The Paperboy (2013)

Upcoming film The Paperboy takes audiences to the Deep South in the 1960s, as reporter Ward Jansen (Matthew McConaughey) returns to small town USA to investigate a case involving a death row inmate.

With the help of his younger brother Jack (Zac Efron) and seductive death-row groupie Charlotte (Nicole Kidman), Ward chases the story of his life as he tries to prove an innocent man was framed for murder.

There is also a scene featuring Zac and Nicole Kidman dancing as the picture above shows. Okay so they may be tighty whities and wet, but hey, we will take any chance we get to see Zac in as little clothes as possible.

The Paperboy is out now.
