If you are a fan of the ensemble cast movie, then the start of 2016 is going to be a major treat for you as we are going to see some of Hollywood's biggest names come together for a range of exciting movies.
Triple 9 is set to be one of the those upcoming films and promises to be a crime/drama not to be missed as we head into next year. The first trailer for the movie really has hinted that we are in for an edge of your seat ride.
Filmmaker John Hillcoat has brought us movies such as The Road and The Proposition during his career and Triple 9 is the first time that we have seen him in the director's chair since Lawless. Matt Cook is also on board having penned the screenplay.
When it comes to the cast list, there are some enormous names on board as the likes of Kate Winslet, Woody Harrelson, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Anthony Mackie, and Casey Affleck are all set to star.
They are joined by Norman Reedus, Teresa Palmer, Gal Gadot, Aaron Paul, and Clifton Collins Jr. - it really is one of the best film line-ups of early 2016 and I can't wait to see all of this great talent in action.
When a crew of dirty cops is blackmailed by the Russian mob to execute a virtually impossible heist, they realise the only way to pull it off is to manufacture a 999, police code for "officer down".
The chaos that ensues when a police officer is shot in the line of duty is just the diversion they'll need to do the job, but whether they have the will to kill one of their own is an entirely different matter, triggering a breakneck, action packed finale tangled with double-crosses, greed and revenge.
Triple 9 really is promising to be an edge of your seat ride that is packed with twists, turns and interesting characters. It is not often that we see Winslet take on a villainous role and she looks terrific in the first trailer for the film.
I am a huge fan of the crime/drama as these films tend to be hard-hitting and gritty... I think we are definitely going to get more of the same with Triple 9.
Triple 9 is released 19th February.
