Blake Lively is back on the big screen this summer with her latest film The Shallows, a movie that has been winning over critics and audiences.

The Shallows

Lively takes on the central role of Nancy in what is the first movie outing for the actress since The Age of Adaline last year - it is great to see her back.

The movie also sees the actress team up with filmmaker Jaume Collet-Serra, who has brought us movies such as Orphan and Unknown in recent years. This is his first feature since Run All Night.

You can see Lively show off her surfing skills in this new clip and talks about the film and her character in this brand new featurette. Take a look:

Oscar Jaenada and Sedona Legge are also on the cast list but The Shallows is a movie that really does belong to Lively and she gives - for the most part - a solo performance.

What was once in the deep is now in The Shallows. In the taut thriller The Shallows, when Nancy (Lively) is surfing on a secluded beach, she finds herself on the feeding ground of a great white shark.

Though she is stranded only 200 yards from shore, survival proves to be the ultimate test of wills, requiring all of Nancy's ingenuity, resourcefulness, and fortitude.

The Shallows is released 12th August.
