Will Poulter

Will Poulter

Will Poulter is the young actor's name on everyone's lips after he triumphed at the Baftas last weekend.

Poulter won the EE Rising Star Award - the only Bafta that is voted for by the movie going general public.

We are yet to see the actor on the big screen so far this year, but he has a very busy 2014 ahead of him.

Poulter is currently filming new movie Grassland, but he already has a trio of movies in the bag; all of which are due for release this year.

Plastic will be hitting the big screen in May, and will see the young actor work with director Julian Gilbey.

This is the first film for Gilbey since A Lonely Place to Die, and he has brought together a cast that includes Ed Speleers, Alfie Allen and Sebastian De Souza.

Plastic follows Sam and Fordy (Speleers and Poulter) who run a credit card fraud scheme. However, it all goes wrong when they steal from the wrong man.

Kids In Love is a film that will be released in summer, and is directed by Chris Foggin. The plot for the film is not yet known, but Poulter will star alongside Alma Jodorowsky and Sebastian De Souza.

The Poulter film to really watch out for this year comes in the form of The Maze Runner: which is an adaptation of the novel of the same name by James Dashner.

Set in a post-apocalyptic world, young Thomas is deposited in a community of boys after his memory is erased, soon learning they're all trapped in a maze that will require him to join forces with fellow "runners" for a shot at escape.

Dylan O'Brien will take on the place of Thomas, while Poulter is set to play Gally. Kaya Scodelario and Patricia Clarkson are also on board.

The Maze Runner will be directed by Wes Ball, and is the latest young adult book to be given a big screen makeover.

As if three films being released wasn't enough, Poulter has also been linked to roles in Shoplifters of the World and iBoy.

And if you were introduced to Poulter last year in comedy We're The Millers, go back and check out other films such as Wild Bill and Son of Rambow.

There has also been talk about a possible sequel to We're The Millers, after the success of the comedy last year. However, that project has not yet been announced.

Poulter has been an exciting talent for a few years now, and it is exciting to see him starting to get the recognition that he richly deserves. Keep an eye on this Brit actor.
