World War Z

World War Z

It has been a fair old while since we have seen Brad Pitt on the big screen but he is set to return this summer with World War Z.

And this is perhaps a role that we have never seen him tackle before as he teams up with director Marc Foster for the action/horror/zombie movie.

You heard me right Pitt is tackling a zombie movie and I cannot wait to see it.

World War Z is a big screen adaptation of the Max Brooks novel of the same name and has been adapted for the big screen by Matthew Michael Carnahan - he has penned scripts for State of Play and The Kingdom in recent years.

It's not only been a while since we have seen a Pitt film grace the big screen but it has also been quite some time since we have seen marc Foster in the director's chair.

His last movie outing as Machine Gun Preacher at the end of 2011 and it is great to see him back as he tackles the action/horror for the very first time.

If superheroes are not your thing - and there are a fair few of those movies floating around this summer - then World War Z could well be the movie for you.

There really is nothing else like this being released this summer and the movie looks set to be action packed from start to finish.

But Pitt is not the only star name to watch out for on the cast as he is joined by Mireille Enos, Matthew Fox and James Badge Dale are all on board.

The movie follows United Nations employee Gerry Lane (Pitt), who traverses the world in a race against time to stop the Zombie pandemic that is toppling armies and governments and threatening to decimate humanity itself.

World War Z may be a movie that has been plagued with delays and setbacks but if the early trailer is anything to go by this is set to be a hell of a ride.
