Fast becoming one of the most talked about new arrivals of 2007, following tips from PopJustice, Sunday Times Culture and Perez Hilton. Dragonette are set to release their debut single on Mercury Records, entitled ‘I Get Around’, on April 23rd. The track is taken from their debut album ‘Galore’, which is out on July 16th. ‘I Get Around’ is a dirty, hooky-heavy sure-fire smash. Pioneering French label Kitsune has snapped up one of the mixes of the single for a future compilation and the tastemakers have already had their appetites whetted with a spectacular showcase that took place in London last week.Dragonette make sharp, sardonically witty electronic pop – think Goldfrapp hanging out with their best friend Gwen Stefani at a Scissor Sisters party.

They are ¾ Canadian (Dan, Martina and Joel) and ¼ British (guitarist Will). After decamping to London last year, they have been honing their small but perfectly formed, all-killer-no-filler repertoire for their debut album ‘Galore’.

In the meantime, Martina accidentally became a pop star, when she wrote and sang lead vocals on the last Basement Jaxx single ‘Take Me Back To Your House’.

Next, its Dragonette’s turn to become pop stars in their own right.
