This summer will see the return of Harvestival, a series of outdoor experiences taking a taste of the countryside to people across the UK.
As farmers prepare to harvest their crops, Harvestival will be visiting towns and cities the length and the breadth of the country in celebration of the great British outdoors.
The events, which kicked off in London on 9th June, offer city dwellers a winning combination of countryside contests and farm food experiences, all set against the backdrop of some great live music.
Harvestival-goers will be challenged to compete in a series of countryside games, so if you’re partial to a pie and think you can beat the best then head down to the blackcurrant pie eating contest.
But if you haven’t got the appetite to enter then the berry shy is the one for you. Whilst people with more patience might like to have a crack at the retro game 'quoits'. If this all seems a bit much then wander down to the pond where you can hook a fruit at your leisure.
Stressed out city dwellers simply looking for a breath of fresh air can come down and chill out at the farmer’s market where there will be stalls offering everything from retro jams and delicious summer berries to cheese and free-range farm produce. Once you’ve had your fill of country treats, quench your thirst at the giant juicer, filled with 100% Pure Juices, courtesy of Ribena.
Whether you’re looking to make the most of your lunch break or just want to do something different then head down to your local Harvestival between 11am and 3pm. Admission is free!
