Marina and the Diamonds

Germany’s premier new music festival, Reeperbahn Festival, have just announced more stellar acts from across the globe ready to take Hamburg by storm this September. One of this year’s biggest breakthrough acts Marina and the Diamonds will join rising artists including, Junip (featuring José González), Goldheart Assmembly, Egyptian Hip Hop, Rox and Wild Palms, amongst many others.

Marina Diamandis, aka Marina and the Diamonds, has made a huge name for herself with her Top 5 album The Family Jewels, and will this year take her quirky pop style to Hamburg for her first Reeperbahn Festival. Organisers are also pleased to announce José González return to the festival – this time with his performing with his band Junip following a 5 year hiatus. Folk-rock favourites and Fierce Panda signing Goldheart Assembly will also grace the harbour city of Hamburg, alongside much talked about Manchester indie ensemble Egyptian Hip Hop and BBC Sound of 2010 entry Rox. One Little Indian signing Wild Palms will also take to the stage alongside former Placebo drummer Steve Hewitt’s new act Love Amongst Ruin.

These new additions will join previously announced artists including Band of Skulls, Stornoway, This Will Destroy You, Wolf Parade, Young Rebel Set and Babylon Circus. Each year the festival takes control of the plethora of live venues in the Reeperbahn district of Hamburg to treat the thousands of revellers to some of new music’s most talked about names, as well as a carefully selected handful of established, big name acts.

Inviting guests from across the world, artists flock from all corners to perform at what is fast becoming one of Europe’s most renowned destinations for live music. With instantly recognisable names sharing the stage with the hottest acts of tomorrow, Reeperbahn Festival’s diverse line-up of acts makes for an exciting alternative to the already established UK summer festivals.
