The Shockwaves NME Awards Shows are back and set to start a new decade in true Rock ‘n’ Roll style as more top acts are added to stellar line up. British Sea Power, The Sunshine Underground, Cosmo Jarvis, Wild Palms, Detroit Social Club, Delphic and Frankie & The Heartstrings will be storming onto stages throughout London in February.
They will join headline acts including Mike Snow, Hadouken!, Simian Mobile Disco and New Young Pony Club who are already set to perform as part of a festival of cutting edge new music. These not to be missed gigs lead us towards the highly anticipated and legendary Shockwaves NME Awards, taking place on 24th February at the iconic O2 Academy Brixton.
British Sea Power a band formed by two brothers in 2000, bring their edgy rock sound to Scala on 9th February and will mark their 10 year anniversary together with headline status at the Shockwaves NME Awards Shows.
The acclaimed The Sunshine Underground a Leeds based indie rock band will headline Koko on 18th February. They will be supported by Cosmo Jarvis, a new kind of artist; a songwriter, singer, filmmaker, storyteller and poet. Also joining the eclectic mix at Koko are London based four piece and ex lion tamers, Wild Palms.
Tipped for big things in 2010 by NME, Detriot Social Club, a Newcastle born indie rock band headline Cargo on 18th February. On 22nd February, also headlining at Cargo, Manchester band Delphic will bring their “Madchester” indie-rave sounds to the stage at the Shockwaves NME Awards Shows.
Supporting the indie underground band Girls, at Scala on 23rd February will be Frankie & The Heartstrings, a self proclaimed “brand new old-fashioned pop band from Sunderland”.
