Vodafone TBA comes to Brighton

4 months ago 10th Jul 15:01

N*E*R*D, The Streets and McFly set to raise temperatures on Brighton Beach on August 10

N*E*R*D, The Streets and McFly form the fantastic line up for the second Vodafone TBA of the year, and with the magnificent Brighton Pier as the backdrop it is set to be one of the most exciting music events of the summer.

Funk Rock supremeos, N*E*R*D will be shaking up the pier with their blistering mash-up of booming hip-hop beats and roller coastering rock riffs. Fans will be treated to their favourite N*E*R*D tunes plus some crunchy rock melding pop tracks from their brand new album ‘Seeing Sounds’. Super producers the Neptunes (Pharrell Williams and Chad Hugo) will bring their experimental sounds and ostentatious grooves to the historic seafront in their usual unique way.

Joining N*E*R*D will be The Streets, fronted by the witty and original MC-ing proposition Mike Skinner. Best known for giving a totally authentic and superbly artful voice to the real middle England , Mike is revered by many as one of the Uk’s best song writers. With his fourth album close to completion, he will be sure to create a set to remember.

Also wowing the crowds on Brighton Beach will be pop quartet, McFly. With numerous awards under their belt, seven Number 1 singles and two Number 1 albums McFly are one of the biggest British bands of the decade. Their energetic pop melodies of crashing drums, cascading guitars and jubilant lyrics will act as a call to arms to the crowd, creating a set brimming with vibrant vigour.

Vodafone customers will have the opportunity to win tickets to the Brighton Vodafone TBA for themselves and two friends by texting ACTS to 61500. Those not lucky enough to attend will be able to watch the gig on T4. TV presenter and Radio DJ Dave Berry ( X FM, The Deadly Knowledge Show) will host the show which will feature intimate interviews with all the bands in the lead up to the big day.

For 2008, the TBA format has evolved, rather than small, secret venue gigs with just one artist, TBA 2008 reveals the location and line up for the multi artist mini “festivals” in advance. Guests will also receive free professional quality event images sent in real time to their handsets, as a memento of their Vodafone TBA experience.

“2008 is another great year for customers to experience Vodafone’s Live Music programme which has seen some of the greatest artists from around the world perform to music fans across the UK.” says Ian Shepherd, Consumer Director, Vodafone UK. “We are poised to deliver a superior music experience this year with a tremendous line up of artists and musicians as well as unique services and content for customers and fans.”
