The 50th Cambridge Folk Festival is just around the corner, and having been sold out for several months has already proven its continued popularity and success.

Those who do not have a ticket are advised not to travel to the Festival, as purchase at the gate over the weekend will not be available.

Newton Faulkner will perform

Tuning in from home is an option, as BBC Radio 2 broadcast from Cherry Hinton with Mark Radcliffe presenting between 3pm and 6pm on Saturday, August 2.

A follow-up show of highlights from the Festival will also be broadcast on the BBC Radio 2 Folk Show with Mark on Wednesday, August 6 between 7pm and 8pm.

Fans can follow the event's social media feeds (Twitter - @camfolk fest and Facebook - www.facebook.com/cambridgefolkfestival), where they'll find backstage performances and exclusive interviews.

Performers this year include Van Morrison, Cara Dillon, Newton Faulkner and Sinéad O'Connor.

The festival takes place from July 31 to August 3.
