Muse are to headline next year's Download Festival, on the second night in Donnington Park.

In a statement they said: "We're really looking forward to Download. We've never played the festival before so it's going to be really special."

Joining Muse on the Saturday night on the main stage will be Faith No More, and the second stage headliner is to be Marilyn Manson.

The trio join Friday night's acts Slipknot, Judas Priest, Five Finger Death Punch and Black Stone Cherry.

The final headliners for the festival are to be announced later this week.

Slipknot frontman Corey Taylor said after being unveiled as Friday's headliners: "Being invited back to Download always feels like coming home. Headlining Download, for the 3rd time, feels like the culmination of a life's dream. It's an honour, a privilege and we're all looking forward to it."
