Noel Gallagher

Noel Gallagher

Noel Gallagher is up for performing next year at the Glastonbury Festival.

The musician made the declaration after comments from Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl in early November, he said he'd take to the Pyramid Stage if Oasis reformed to top the bill.

Dave said: "If Prince does it, and Oasis does it, you've got the Foo Fighters, how about that?"

Now Noel's said he'd be available for the event, taking place at Worthy Farm in Somerset from June 24-28, but wouldn't comment on whether he'd be looking to reunite with brother Liam for the festival.

He said: "I'm available that weekend - it's not up to me though, is it?"

He was also full of praise for Foo Fighters, insisting they're some of the nicest people in the rock business.

Speaking on XFM Radio he explained: "What they say about him is true. He is genuinely one of the nicest men in rock. We've done some big gigs with them down the years. Great lads, all of them."

Noel quit Oasis following a backstage bust-up with brother Liam, ending with the singer trying to hit his sibling over the head with a guitar in 2009.

Not speaking for years, the animosity between them has eased in recent months, with Noel saying they're on: "good terms, well as good as we can be".

A reunion doesn't seem something that will happen in the near future, with him previously saying: "It's not on the cards. From where I sit now it's purely a creative thing.

"I really, really enjoy where I am with my music and where I am with my band. I wouldn't be willing to give that up for anything."
