This will be the indie band's first London show in five years and mark their only festival appearance of 2015.

The group have been praised far and wide since their 2001 debut album 'Is This It', and most recently released their fifth studio record, 2013's 'Comedown Machine'.

As the fifth act to be announced for the annual series of shows, Blur will perform on June 20, with Kylie Minogue, Grace Jones and Chic feat. Nile Rodgers all taking to the stage on June 21.

The Who, Paul Weller, Kaiser Chiefs and Johnny Marr will sing on June 26 with Taylor Swift, Ellie Goulding and John Newman performing on June 27.

Barclaycard presents British Summer Time Hyde Park will run from June 18 to June 28, with tickets to The Strokes' show going on sale on Friday March 6.
