Florence And The Machine

Florence And The Machine

As 2009 draws to a close and we all wonder how to pronounce 2010 (is it twenty ten, or two thousand and ten?!) we thought it was only right that take a look back at the past 12 months in an organised fashion… and what better way to be organised, than by alphabetising?

F is for Florence And The Machine - Can’t say I’m a fan of Florence And The Machine per se, and had she not covered the classic You’ve Got The Love I probably wouldn’t have featured her in this A-Z.

G is for Green Day - One of the bands who shaped my teenage years has to be Green Day, and when they unleashed 21st Century Breakdown I was RIGHT at the front of the queue for a copy. Okay, so it’s no Dookie, but they guy had to grow up someday.

H is for Hannah Montana - I couldn’t find a better place to put Miley Cyrus as Michael Jackson HAD to be our letter M, so her she is under her alternate name… she’s had a good year with the release of The Climb and whatnot. I think Miley’s The Time of Our Lives EP is my 2009 guilty pleasure!

I is for Illuminations - This is the 2009 EP release from Little Boots. Considering that her single Remedy is on repeat in my car at the moment, I can’t see this little lady pottering out of the limelight in the near future.

J is for JLS - Wow, what a year for the lads in JLS, if it wasn’t for Lady GaGa’s wacky behaviour I’d say these boys were THE stars of 2009 (and I’m sure many of you would argue that they already are). I can’t WAIT to see what they have in store for 2010, but with an arena tour just announced, I’m sure it’s going to be huge.
