Blake

Blake are hanging out in our office today and so we thought it was only fair that we got them to answer a couple of your questions, so, after the sackloads we had sent in, here are the lucky few….

Hi all. Greetings from Podgorica, Montenegro.
Your music is out of this world,  your voices out of world.
FemaleFirst, thank you for the chance to ask these wonderful people a question.
So, without more ado - Is there anyplace you would rather be than here, in a magic called "Blake"?

BLAKE - Hi Bojana and thanks for your question.  I am think you are asking with the power of magic where would Blake like to be!  Obviously, apart from coming out to Montenegro and singing for you, our next big goal is to conquer the USA!  We are going out to New York in a couple pf weeks to sing with Lady Ga Ga so keep checking the website - www.blakeofficial.com and we will let you know how it goes. Singing on the moon would be very cool as well!

Hi Blake,

First of all Jules, sorry about your loss at this sad time.

But secondly, I would like to know how being in a band has changed your lives for the better? Your music inspires me when I am feeling down and I hope that your careers can make you feel the same.

Thanks,

Cassie. xx

BLAKE -  To be in Blake is a dream job.  It has allowed us to have so many wonderful experiences, from travelling around the world, meeting some extraordinary people and singing in some of the greatest venues in the world.  All this has given us a great deal of confidence to deal with things life throws at you.  We have always set out to sing inspiring music so we are so thrilled to hear we are doing something right!

Hi Blake,

I find it fascinating that you found each other on Facebook, how did that happen?

Thanks guys, and sorry to hear of your loss.

J.x

BLAKE - Hi James, thanks for that. About three years ago Jules and I (Ollie) first talked about getting a small group of guys together to sing at events; weddings, funerals etc., but had no idea it would become as large as it has! Finding Stephen and (originally) Dom would have been impossible without Facebook, as we had no phone numbers for them. We also used Facebook to send a message to a manager who wrote back saying we could meet for five minutes the following day.  After meeting he took us to Universal Records who offered us an album deal on the spot!  Without Facebook we may not be here now!

Hey Guys,

I am really excited for Together, i have all of your old albums and I play them a lot.

Anyway, I was wondering... you do a lot of covers of other songs, and how do you choose which ones you want to sing?

Thanks. X

BLAKE - Choosing the music for an album is always a challenge.  We spend many hours in the pub mulling over which songs we think will work with the Blake sound.  After that we sit by the piano and put them into four part harmony.  At this stage it becomes clear which songs are going to work. We have really tried to get a great mix of music on our new album Together from rock songs like With or Without You to classical tracks such as Abide With Me, and we are sure that the tracks we have chosen will be really popular.  We are really excited to have an original track called Unsung Hero written by the American songwriter Denise Rich.  Come and find us at www.blakeofficial.com and tell us what you think!

Hi Blake,

I hope you get a chance to answer this comment, I would like to know what has been the best place you have ever played in your life.

thx.

BLAKE -

HUMPH - For me it was opening the new roof at Wimbledon.  It was such an honour to stand on centre court in front of a full house, meet Andre Agassi and to know the whole performance was being viewed around the world.  It does not get much better than that!

JULES - Our first gig together was singing in front of 93,000 people at Wembley Stadium.  It was the first of many incredible experiences.  In case you are wondering,  I was very nervous!!  The Albert Hall was also amazing.  It is such a famous building for music and I fulfilled a life long dream to perform there.
