Boyzone

Boyzone are sitting at the op of the UK album chart after their new release, Brother, beat cartoon characters Gorillaz to the top spot.

Whilst Gorrilaz had looked likely to grab the topspot with their new album, Plastic Beach, it was the Irish lads who shifted more records; the first release since the tragic death of band member Stephen Gately passed away in October.

Ronan Keating said of the news; "We're just over the moon, we can't believe it. It's quite emotional for us to be honest. We've worked hard on this one for obvious reasons. It's been an emotional time for us and for the album to go to number one was very important for us on so many levels."

Elsewhere in the chart, a new entries from Amy MacDonald reached number four, whilst the original cast recording of Love Never Dies entered at number ten, but Ellie Goulding's Lights, fell from number one to 16.
