She's young and female - Taylor Swift threatens to upstage the 'Country's' men at the CMA's

Taylor Swift the 19-year-old country singer who's talents have managed to make her music as popular with the mainstream pop fans as she is with country fans has beat every living artist in all genre this year clocking up sales of over 3 million copies of her "Fearless" CD (the album remains No.3 in the charts 51 weeks after release), plus record concert ticket sales so its pretty conclusive that the girl is a success..

Taylor is also favorite to win the Country Music Association's title of entertainer of the year, the CMA's highest honor, at the CMA Awards this Wednesday night.

The singer is the youngest ever nomination for the award and the first solo female act since Faith Hill way back in 2000.

Kenny Chesney has up until now dominated the CMA Awards' most prestigious category with three straight wins and four of the last five, and Chesney is looking for a fifth win to pass Garth Brooks for the most wins in the 43 year history of the awards.

It's this real and in no way false humility that endears her to her adoring public both inside the industry as well as her paying fans.

Brad Paisley  Wednesdays co-host leads the nominations with seven, his album "American Saturday Night" debuted at No.2 on the album charts when it was released earlier this year and he's had 11 straight No. 1 singles on the country charts.

Keith Urban's highly received live shows and his album "Defying Gravity" which hit No. 1 on the Billboard 200. is also in contention after all he is the only artist to interrupt Chesney's recent domination in the category, winning back in 2005.

But 2009 is Swift's year and she could soon be in the company of the likes of Loretta Lynn, Dolly Parton and Reba McEntire, three of the six other female acts to win entertainer of the year.

But Swift, remains grounded and dismiss' any such talk genuinely flattered by the fact that she is even mentioned in the same sentence as such greats.

It's this real and in no way false humility that endears her to her adoring public both inside the industry as well as her paying fans.
