Someone should tell Sgt Wolfbanger that smoking is bad for you.
Introducing: Sgt Wolfbanger

Sgt Wolfbanger are: Dan Parry: Vocals / Rob McMeekin: Lead guitar / Mike Grocott: Rhythm Guitar / Gaz Muirhead: Bass / Nath Lundie: Drums
I love it when I find a new band who gives me goosebumps - and no, not just because they’re playing in a car park - but because they have something that makes them stand out from the crowd, something that makes them better than the rest, and of course, seriously hot band members. Sgt Wolfbanger has that.
The guys from Cheshire have been playing together for two years now and after a long uphill slog they have managed to bag themselves a new manager who are finally helping them find their feet within the music industry.
They have spent the past two months recording their latest E.P and drummer Nathan Lundie said; “The last two months have been pretty intense and we’ve got about fifteen new songs that were all pretty pleased with. “ Super exciting eh?
Since their formation the guys have managed to cram in over 70 gigs, including an incredible spot as the support to McFly at Dorfold park earlier this year.
If that doesn’t leave you impressed, they also made it to the final of a national music competition out of over 10,000 bands and in a show of true professionalism, Nathan told me: “At the time we were absolutely gutted about not winning, but in the end it turned out for the best, we got the McFly gig the following week!
“We were also supposed to play with The Automatic at a festival in Frodsham, but I hear the promoter lost his wallet (or something like that) so we never got that show.” says Nathan.
With such great exposure over the past year, there is no doubt that these kids are heading right for the big-time, and with a tour on the cards for next year, 2009 looks set to be the year for Sgt Wolfbanger.
Taking influence from the likes of rock gods Incubus, Led Zeppelin and the Foo Fighters as well as the Indie boys in Oasis, Coldplay and Snow Patrol, there is no definite genre to pin these lads down in. Rather than saying they sound like a musical patchwork quilt, I would have say they are more like Neapolitan ice cream (something for everyone) except of course, people with sensitive teeth: then you’re just screwed.
Their last E.P. brought them a lot of interest from the industry and they think their new record should cement a full-on deal. Nathan explained; “We got label interest from the last E.P. and hopefully the next one should cement the deal.
“We think the tune’s are a huge improvement on the last lot, we seem to have found our groove writing wise, but were trying not to get too comfortable either. We’ll just have to see what the future brings!”
If it doesn’t work out for you boys, we have a big garden you can come and jam in… but we have this rule… that you can’t wear any clothes.
For fans of: Incubus, Stereophonics, Foo Fighters, Red Hot Chili Peppers.

These guys are every bit as good as any band I've heard here in Canada who are supposed to be "big" and I'm not just saying that because I'm related to Dan !
