One To Watch: Grace Solero

Every once in a while a band comes along that justifies the hype and blows your mind. That band is Grace Solero and their recent explosion onto the UK scene marks them out as one of the pioneers for the new rock revolution.   

Grace Solero’s music bridges the gap somewhere between the stage and the stadium - the expansive yet melodic.... the powerful but delicate. Drawing from influences as far afield as Italy and California, they define themselves by their great fusion of both pop and underground sounds. It’s the soundtrack to your daytime reverie, the music that haunts your sleep and the melody that meddles with your mind.

The band’s highly charged live set is one of the many strings to their multi faceted musical bow. Originally a gymnast, founding member and front woman Grace Solero studied Contemporary Dance at the Academy of Drama in Rome. This combined with her classically trained vocals leads to a unique live performance of both music and dance. Like the sea, always in motion, Grace’s movement enhances the landscapes and different states of mind that her band creates, evoking an entrancing experience of different moods from the audience.

Drawn to the UK to expand their horizons, it wasn’t long before the country started to stand up and take notice of the Grace Solero. After being spotted by Ace, the guitarist from Skunk Anansie, the band were invited to perform with him on one of his many radio shows. Punk pioneers The Vibrators also fell under the Grace Solero spell and went on to record several tracks together. Font man and founder, Knox described them as "A hot rock band fronted by the fabulous singing talent of an angel with attitude".

Back once again in the UK, Grace Solero will also make an almighty wave on English shores as they prepare to convert unsuspecting gig goers to bona fide fans up and down the country. Raucous riffs, bouncing baselines, and top tunes....  this is music from the source.
