Song Of The Week: Beyonce Knowles - Halo

I’ve always had a bit of a love / hate relationship with Beyonce Knowles, don’t get me wrong, she’s got a cracking voice, but when I heard Crazy In Love for the sixth million time I thought I was going to go insane.

I know it’s not her fault that her singles are so ridiculously overplayed, I mean no-one’s complaining about Lady Gaga now are they? But with that in mind, as I’ve only heard Halo about 25 times so far, it still has a bit of mileage left in it.

What’s more, I bet Leona Lewis is kicking herself now she see’s that I’m loving Beyonce after the writers, Ryan Tedder and Evan "Kidd" Bogart, originally offered the single to her, but she was far too busy to record it at the time.

So, if you do have a bit of cash in your pocket this weekend, or on your iTunes card, then I think this empowering ballad is the perfect investment as we try to keep our heads above water throughout this darn credit crunch!

One thing’s for sure, Warrington’s Halo won’t know what’s hit them when FemaleFirst-s girls climb on the podium and start throwing shapes to it…. It’s crazy what a bottle of Blossom Hill can do to a girl.
