Lorde performed at the annual event

The Billboard Music Awards 2014 took place last night, and saw Justin Timberlake as the major prize winner.

Despite not being at the show, JT took home seven trophies which included Top Male Artist and Top Artist at the annual show, this year put on at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Justin was also awarded the Top Billboard 200, Top Radio Songs Artist, Top R&B Artist, Top R&B Album and Top Billboard 200 Album - all of which he accepted via live video stream as he's currently on tour.

Accepting the gongs he said: "I'm shocked. I'm stunned. I'm really surprised."

Other big winners included Imagine Dragons who took five awards home including Top Rock Album and Top Rock Artist, whilst Pharrell, T.I. and Robin Thicke got four 'Blurred Lines' prizes.
