Produced by Pharrell Williams, Ed Sheeran's new single 'SING' is a product of a chance meeting at an industry awards event.

Exchanging details, they soon hit the studio to create the new track.

Ed said: “Pharrell really pushes you and wants you to do the best thing possible. So you don’t go for the first thing he plays... Pharrell must have been on about his 17th idea when he played me this beat. I don’t really get jazz chords and this felt like one of them. Instinctively, I dismissed it, but I had a guitar in my hand and started playing that riff absent-mindedly. From that moment, I was playing that song and... we just pieced it all together.”

The song is the first to be lifted from Ed's forthcoming album 'x' which is scheduled for release on June 23.

'SING' is available to pre-order now and will be officially released on June 1 through Warner Music UK.
