The vice president of communication for the company, Marie Knowles says: "I find it interesting you've got Elvis Presley, you've got The Beatles.

She continues: "They're among the most listened to on this new platform. These are iconic rock acts, and they've got staying power."

Rihanna is the first modern-day act to enter the list at number 4, showing the greats still have what it takes to maintain relevance in an ever-expanding industry.
