18-year-old Marcella is an American singer/songwriter unlike most others. She's planning on world domination and her infectious voice could see her do exactly that.
Influences are from a diverse list of names including Amy Winehouse and Adele, as well as Elvis, Justin Timberlake and John Mayer.
Born in Texas on December 19, 1995, music was always a massive part of Marcella's life.
At eight years olf she joined a competitive hip hop dance team, where she was chosen alongside a few other girls to back up for a local teen artist in town.
One day the girls were asked out of the blue to sing background vocals and it was here that Marcella's talent was truly realised.
At 15, Marcella had made up her mind that being a recording artist was the path she was going to go down. Graduating high school early she took the time to work on her music, and now three years ahead we are here today just a day before the release of her debut single.
'Shaky Knees' is that track to be released - a song she wrote herself, a song that comes from a place of truth, as she refuses to write if she feels no connection.
“What’s the point in writing or singing about something I do not believe in? For me music is so personal. I love when someone writes to me to tell me that they are playing my song on repeat because they are going through the same thing or it helps them get through a tough time.” she says.
