When first listening to Jazz Mino's incomparable vocals, it's easy to see how she's gathered such a loyal and intense following throughout her career to-date.
Having performed in the past in front of the likes of Amy Winehouse, Nell McAndrew and Barbara Windsor, the singer is back with her brand new single 'Hurt', and we've got the exclusive music video premiere to share with Female First readers which you can check out below:
Produced by Geoff Cockwill and Silvertip Films, the video shows Jazz enjoying a variety of different drinks on a typical day, including coffee and wine, but it's clear from the outset that she's not having the best time.
Speaking about the single and video on her Facebook earlier today, Jazz said: "As a lot of you know, my latest single has been quite an emotional journey for me, as it's about losing somebody who I loved very deeply; my amazing Gran, Vera. During the time, I didn't really voice how I felt as I had to stay brave for my family and my Gran, so songwriting was sort of my saviour. I know that there are many of you reading this who will have also lost somebody you love - Over the past few months I've realised that it's not really something that you ever get over, which is why I think "Hurt" will always ring true for me, and always be quite a difficult song to sing at shows etc (Those of you who came to the gig on Tuesday know what I mean!!).
"My Gran was one of the most beautiful human beings (along with my mum!) that I've ever met. She always put herself before others and just had so much love and kindness in her heart. I will always aspire to be like her and as long as there's music, kindness and happiness in my soul, I know that a part of her will always be with me forever."
The video is a relatable and interesting piece, able to be interpreted in a variety of different ways. It's videos like this which really show what an artist is made of, and it's clear Jazz is someone not messing around when it comes to music. She's ready to take on the world with her beautiful talent.
