Sam Smith has been nominated for a total of four MOBO Awards.
Up for Best Male Act, Best Song for 'Stay With Me', Best Album for debut record 'In The Lonely Hour' and Best R&B/Soul Act, he's alongside hip-hop duo Krept & Konan who also have four nominations.
Tinie Tempah, Ghetts, FKA Twigs, Meridian Dan and Fuse ODG have three nominations each, whilst Katy B and Marsha Ambrosius have two.
The Best Newcomer prize is one of the most hotly contested awards this year with acts including Ella Eyre, MNEK and Jess Glynne battling it out for recognition.
MNEK spoke at Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club in London during the announcement saying: "Being a black artist and being nominated for an award that is for music of black origin makes me really proud. I'm really honoured to be nominated for Best Newcomer, I'm thankful for it.
"Hopefully this will make more people aware of me, I want people to know who I am and I want people to hear what I've got to say. Things like the MOBOs are great platforms for artists."
The MOBO Awards take place on October 22, hosted by Sarah-Jane Crawford and will be broadcast on ITV2.
