Hip-Hop/R&B Round Up-Rapper Foxy Brown was arrested once again last week for assaulting yet another manicurist, this time in Florida. Brown, real name Inga Marchand was also in violation of her probation after being sentenced to three years after a similar attack on a manicurist in Manhattan in 2004. She was released from jail in Pembroke Pines on $1500 bond and she could face up to twelve months for probation violation. Foxy Brown shot to fame after appearing alongside Jay Z on his Dead Presidents album back in 1996.- Busta Rhymes spoke out about the shooting of his bodyguard Israel Ramirez recently. Ramirez was killed at the video shoot for Busta Rhymes worldwide hit Touch It hit back in February last year. The murderer of Ramirez has never been found and Busta Rhymes, whose real name is Trevor Smith has faced serious accusations from the slain mans family.Busta who spoke candidly with MTV news had this to say, “It doesn’t hurt me (what the family say) because I don’t live with guilt, I didn’t do nothing. I didn’t contribute to that negative (in any) shape or form. As far as certain family members feeling a certain way about me, I can never hold that against them because everybody gotta deal with tragedy in their own way; especially when it’s direct personal tragedy. All I can do is try to be the greatest support system I could be despite how they want to use me as a punching bag. I’m cool with that."An argument between G-Unit’s Tony Yayo and producer Swizz Beats is speculated to be the root of the violence, but nothing has been confirmed.- The ex wife of rapper Eminem, Kim Mathers spoke out about the rappers alleged failure to take care of his children and how he is still on drugs in an interview on a Detroit radio station. The accusations obviously upset the platinum selling rapper as he issued a statement saying “It's a shame that I've moved on and Kim hasn't. Her ongoing press campaign is doing nothing but harm to the children, and for that I feel truly sorry. For their sake I wish she would stop."The couple had attempted marriage twice, but they divorced for a second time in Feb 2006 after only one month of marriage. Mathers is now considering writing a book about her relationship with Eminem.
- R&B singing sensation Ne Yo released the first single off his new album Because of You. The singer/songwriter is still riding high off his debut In My Own Words which went platinum. His sophomore album is expected to hit shelves on April 24th. The Las Vegas native was recently nominated for two Grammy’s for his first album and for the song So Sick. Busta Rhymes
