The suit came about after a personal phone call between the plaintiff and former So So Def recording artist Daz Dillinger was used on a track from the rappers eighth studio album So So Gangster.

Also named in the lawsuit along side Jermaine Dupri and Daz Dillinger are Virgin Records.

Estelle nominated for five Mobo Awards
Estelle who shot to fame all over the world with her Kanye West assisted American Boy track this year is on track to take home five awards at this years Mobo (Music of Black Origin) Awards which will be held at the Wembley Arena in October.

The West London singer/rapper is up for awards in the following categories best song, best UK female, best R&B/soul, best video and best album.

X-factor winner Leona Lewis who is enjoying considerable success in the US is also up for three awards along side London rapper Dizzie rascal.

The Mobo Awards were established in 1995 in England to recognize artists of any race or nationality performing music of black origin.

Hip-Hop Listeners are outgoing
A recent study by a professor at Herriot-Watt university which studied the personalities and listening habits of over 36,000 people has determined that Hip-Hop and rap listeners have outgoing personalities, country music fans are more hard working, heavy metal fans are gentle and lazy and fans of pop music are less creative.

“People do actually define themselves through music and relate to other people through it but we haven't known in detail how music is connected to identity,” explained Professor Adrian North of the Scottish University who carried out the report.
