Rapper Snoop Dogg’s medical marijuana dependency may help keep an aide out of jail.

The Gin & Juice hitmaker has told police in Norfolk, Virginia that the drug package sent to a member of his entourage from Canada was meant for him.

The authorities swooped on Snoop's pal when the suspicious package arrived at the Norfolk Plaza Hotel addressed to him and arrested him for misdemeanour marijuana possession.

Snoop quickly arrived on the scene and presented his medical marijuana card to police, insisting the drug package was wrongly addressed. Police are now investigating.
