2 months ago 30th Apr 12:30

In today's Daily Rap there's a new album in the pipeline for A Tribe Called Quest, Proctor and Gamble have been asked to withdraw their advertisements, Mariah Carey to return to the big screen and Busta Rhymes' album pushed back.

Something new from ATCQ?

As they are headlining the Rock the Bells Tour this year, there are reports that true Hip-Hop fans will be happy to hear, about a new album from A Tribe Called Quest may just be in the works.

The Love Movement, the bands last release came ten years ago just before the four members went their separate ways.

"We're not gonna sit here and say we're not thinking about it. Of course, we're thinking about it," explained Jabori White who rejoined with fellow band members Q-Tip, Phife Dawg and Ali Shaheed Muhammad.

Advertisers test consumers on urban channels

Proctor and Gamble have been asked to withdraw their advertisements from channels such as MTV and BET after a report was made public by the Parents Television Council and the Enough Is Enough Campaign in Entertainment.

The report explains that commercials from the company for items such as Duracell batteries, Gillette razors and washing powders are being shown amidst shows that promote inappropriate content such as violence and criminal behavior.

The Enough is Enough campaign is headed by Reverend Deleman Coates. In response to the matters raised by Coates and his campaign Proctor and Gamble have in fact put a hotline into effect which will allow consumers to call in and voice any concerns they have in regards to products they use being advertised on such channels.

Better Luck Next time

Looks like Mariah Carey may have just got over her disastrous screen appearance in her Glitter role as she is set to star in a new indie movie set to debut at the Tribeca Film Festival this year.

Carey plays the part of a waitress and hopes that this performance will redeem her for her box office flop Glitter back in 2002 which resulted in a sever bout of depression for the vocalist.

Busta’s new signee

Just as his album is being pushed back, Busta Rhymes is snapping up former Blackstreet member Chanucey Black for his Flipmode imprint through Interscope records.

Rhymes was impressed with what he saw from Black when they were both recording in Virginia studio that he instantly signed him.

The first project from Black will be the Every Day is your Birthday track produced by Teddy Riley which will be featured on the singers debut album on his new label titled Church Boy. There has yet to be a date determined for the release of the album.
