In today's Daily Rap we see Lil Wayne fail to show up for a gig, A Listers appeal for the US to vote, Common narrowly avoids fatal shooting and celebs voice their prayers and thoughtsfor Jennifer Hudson.
Lil Wayne a No Show
Various shows have been missing their headlining act lately. Lil Wayne missed out on yet another concert on Monday night in Boston MA after issues with Wayne and his entourage going through the metal detectors in place for all artists and fans who were in attendance to watch the Jam’n 94.5 Monster Jam.
Wayne was to sharing the headline with fellow rapper Jay Z who went above and beyond to guarantee fans weren’t disappointed with the lack of Li Wayne.
Reports have indicated that Lil Wayne, born Dwayne Cater was intoxicated when arriving at the venue and various people had tried to encourage the performer to give the 17,000 fans who had assembled what they came for.
Lil Wayne also failed to show at a concert in Upstate New York on Sunday night also.
A List Entertainers appeal for America to Vote
Jay Z, Mary J Blige, Sean Combs and executive Kevin Liles have once again appealed to the public to get out and vote on November 4th when Barack Obama and John McCain face off in the Presidential race for the Whitehouse.
So far Obama is leading in the polls but the four aforementioned personalities requested in a recent letter to the public for voters not to get complacent and think that the work is done.
Jay Z and gang are appealing to the 44 million 18-29 year olds who are able to vote to go out and support Obama next Tuesday. Obama has become a firm favorite to win the election.
Common avoids being shot
Chicago rapper Common was only hours from being involved in a fatal shooting in a Brooklyn barbershop yesterday.
The shop in Fort Greene, Brooklyn where Common had had a hair cut only hours earlier was the scene of a violent shoot out which left four men injured and one dead.
An altercation which had started on the street corner close by the shop and the victim had ran to the shop for cover but was then cornered in the shop by the two assailants who were both armed.
Thirty shots were fired and an off duty police officer was caught in the cross fire and injured. So far no arrests have been made.
Celebs voice their prayers and thoughts
Various celebrities from the entertainment have spoke about the loss that Jennifer Hudson and her family are facing after the slaying of the Oscar winning actresses Mother, brother and now nephew.
The body of the seven year old boy who had been missing since the discovery of his Uncle and grandmother on Friday was discovered in the back of a jeep on Monday and was later identified by Jennifer Hudson as her seven year old nephew Julian King.
Simon Cowell, Queen Latifah, Sarah Jessica Parker, Paul Abdul are just some of the people to have sent their thoughts and prayers to Jennifer at this time. Jennifer was on the road promoting her new movie Life of Bees when the tragedy happened.
