In today we catch up with what rumours have circulated about rapper TI, Keyshia Cole’s mother is not dead, how the recession is affecting the world of print magazines across the pond and Baby talks on Lil Wayne’s so called rock offering.

TI to Wed?

Having been granted an extra 30-60 days before he begins his one year and a day sentence for gun charges Atlanta rapper TI and long time girlfriend Tameka Cotton, former member of the band Xscape are rumoured to be tying the knot before he heads off to prison. The couple, who have two children together, have been together since 2001 are expected to swap vows in a private ceremony in early May.

Keyshia Cole’s Mother Alive and Well

Representatives for songstress Keyshia Cole have denied all rumours that the platinum selling singers mother was killed in a fatal car accident earlier this week.

Frankie Lons who stars alongside her daughter in the BET reality show The Way It Is is said to be at the family home in Atlanta, alive and well and was in no way involved in any car accident.

Manny Hally, Cole’s manager and her record label Interscope both issued statements denying the demise of Frankie. It is unclear how the rumour started.

More Music Mags Fold

As the recession takes its toll on every industry, three major magazines have been forced to stop print in the last month.

Urb, King and Blender are the latest to fall prey to dwindling advertising sales. King Magazine, once compared by Hugh Hefner as the ‘black Playboy,’ is part of the Harris Publications Group which is also home to XXL and the now defunct Scratch Magazine.

Blender which is edited by former Rolling Stone Editor Joe Levy announced that April, would be the highly respected magazines last only last week.

The Rebirth is more Experimental

In a recent interview with Vibe Magazine, Cash Money front man Baby Williams spoke on the up and coming release from his so called son and protégé Lil Wayne.

Hailed as a rock album, Baby explains that The Re-Birth is more about Wayne’s experimenting as opposed to a straight guitar endeavour which he believes people are expecting the project to be.

“That’s what I think people are getting misunderstood. When you speaking about a rock record, you think he’s got a guitar and everything, but it’s not that. It’s going to be some of those types of beats, but it’s just great music. I don’t think no artist can do what he about to get done. My son is a rock star.”

The first track Prom Queen reached number 5 on the Billboard chart but was met by mixed reviews by fans and critics.
