Bow Wow Retires

After dismal sales of his new album New Jack City Part II Bow Wow has announced that his 17 year career in the rap game is over. The Sony/Columbia artist was mentored by producer Jermaine Dupri and West Coast icon Snoop Dogg back in the early years.

He recently spoke out saying he was the most promising act for 2009 yet first week sales for his sixth album were just short of 40,000 copies sold. The pint sized rapper who has been linked with Ciara and Angela Simmons (daughter of Rev Run) is said to have his sights on a career in the movie business.

TI Bodyguard sentenced

There must be something about that one year and a day in a federal jail for those involved in the TI gun case which sees the Atlanta rapper commence his sentence next month.

The bodyguard who opted to wear a wire for meetings with TI, born Clifford Harris also got the same sentence as his employer for his part in the gun case. Corey Williams was approached by ATF after attempting to buy a machine gun without registering the weapon for TI back in 2007.

To avoid extensive jail time for himself, Williams took a deal with the ATF and proceeded to meet up with his employer wearing a wire in order for the authorities to home in and target Tip, already a convicted felon, for gun possession and numerous other charges.

In other related TI news, he is already well on the way to recording a new album to follow the platinum selling Paper Trail which was released last year.
