Even though The Cinematics are a globally recognised act that toured across North America, South America, Asia and Europe in support of their debut album ‘A Strange Education’ amassing tens of thousands of fans, they rarely make it down to London to demonstrate their explosive live performance abilities and prove to the media they are the REAL music for the people.

Well it is no time like the present for them to do this as they approach the release of their first single ‘Love and Terror’ from their 2nd album of the same name this autumn. The new album, which was written and recorded over the course of the past couple of years, highlights the currently perceived times of doom and glory. The energy they bring to the stage pushes this even further with their razor sharp guitar work and grand stage presence.

It is no wonder they’ve often shown up some of the acts they’ve supported on tour including We Are Scientists, Editors and Snow Patrol. According to a BBC live review, The Cinematics’ Scott Rinning “delivers the broad-brush lyrics with all the dramatic gusto he can summon, whilst the band mesh together in producing a sound that is as intense and windswept as the landscapes they grew up in.”

Current media support is coming from Vic Galloway (Radio 1 & Radio Scotland), Tom Robinson (6Music) with bloggers and online press beginning to buzz about their triumphant return. Armed with this post-TVT Records material, the band are set to play some sure fire future hits along with popular tracks from their first album at their upcoming gigs.

So it is with great honour that Smoky Carrot Sessions present The Cinematics to headline their first in a series of monthly showcases at The Macbeth in London on Wednesday 12th August. Also contributing to this highly anticipated night are One Little Indian’s The Mighty Roars who are making some noise of their own plus Coventry’s hotly tipped Pint Shot Riot and up-and-coming London atmospheric rockers Delooze. Add to this a special DJ set from none other than The Holloways and it looks like Smoky Carrot are starting off on the right foot for their monthly sessions.

Love and Terror (single) is due for UK release on the 10th August, 2nd single New Mexico is out on the 14th September with Love and Terror (album) out on the 28th September.
