Daisy Dares You Answers The 15 Questions We Ask Everyone

Daisy Coburn, otherwise known as Daisy Dares You is a 16 year old starlet who’s already found her name on the BBC Sound of 2010 list thanks to her own brand of unique bubblegum punk. I caught up with the rising star to ask the 15 questions we ask everyone.

Hello there little monster, what are you up to?

I've just finished the Chipmunk tour which was amazing. I was the only girl on the tour but we had such a laugh and I totally love playing live.

So, tell me about what you're here to promote?

I guess the single, Number One Enemy, which came out this week. Chipmunk got involved and features on it, and it's my first release so it's all very exciting. I wrote it a little while ago after having an argument with my sister.

And if we didn t have any clue as to who you were, what should we be looking up on Google?

Have a look at my video (below). I love alice in wonderland so we based it on that. It was exhausting but great fun to make and I think it gives a pretty good idea about what I'm about..

And as Jacko had the Moonwalk and Elvis had the snake hips, what do you have that makes you unique?

I still feel weird talking about myself, but I guess the fact that I’m completely involved in everything from the songwriting to the videos and artwork. I have a strong sense of what I like and where I want to go with this,. Not in an arrogant way, I just want to be involved and get it all right.

Now, clearly we need to get to know each other more, so tell me an interesting fact about you that noone else knows?

I like to bake cakes. And make jam.

What song do you wish you d written?

God, so many, maybe This Charming Man by The Smiths.

If I was contemplating coming to your show or sitting at home and TV, how would you convince me to come out?

Come out and we'd have a laugh. And you could come hang out afterwards.

And if you were to take me on a trip to your hometown, what would be the first place we’d go?

I live in the middle of the countryside, so we'd go hang out in the field behind my house. It would have to be sunny though. Maybe we’d go visit a few antique book and furniture stores, there’s some wicked little places near me.

What s the best prank you’ve ever pulled on someone? And what s the most daring thing you’ve ever done? Please tell us how it ended up!

There are lots of wind ups on tour, I couldn't possibly tell you though - what happens on tour stays on tour!


If you had to date a member of the same sex (or opposite sex if the case may be) who would it be? Mine would ALWAYS be Angelina Jolie.

Hmmm. Courtney Love since I love everything about her. I met her a couple of weeks ago and it was wicked.

Have you ever been naked in public? Elaborate.

Only at photoshoots and stuff. I'm very comfortable!

Have you ever been arrested? Again, elaborate.

Nah, I'm a good girl really.

Speaking of prison - if you were to send someone to prison for crimes against music, who would it be?

Hmm, I’m getting a little sick of the artists I’m compared with so ‘them’ – not naming any names.

What were you doing last night at 11?

The tour finished so I was exhausted. I think I was probably asleep in the back of the car.
