We got the opportunity to chat to Beauty about his music, background and more…

For those who may be new to your music, how best would you describe your sound?

It's a blend of electro synth pop and urban beats. Melodic and poppy.

What challenges have you faced in the music industry so far?

Rejection can be tough as a songwriter. Whether it's having a song that you pitched for another artist declined or just receiving negative criticism, sometimes you can be hard on yourself and really take it to heart. But I've learnt to not take everything so personally and to keep growing and learning.

How difficult would you say this career path is in terms of making a name for yourself?

Well it's not easy, that's for sure! It's definitely not for the lazy. I think, if you're willing to work hard in every aspect of what you do and push for better all of the time, you stand a good chance. It's also important to surround yourself with the right people and to make sure that they're just as hungry and working just as hard as you too.

How important is it for you to have creative control over the work you produce?

It's crucial that I have creative control. I personally, as an artist, wouldn't feel a connection otherwise. I do love to collaborate though and as long as there is a balance between creators, the creative process and outcome can be amazing.

Where do you draw influence and inspiration from for your work?

Everyday life, my interactions with family, friends, relationships. I love drawing inspiration from visuals and allowing them to inspire lyric and song themes.

If you could collaborate with anybody going forward, who would you choose and why?

Robyn is one of my favourite artists. I'm a big fan of hers. I like that her songs are melancholy but the production is upbeat and danceable. That always gets me excited.

Do you have definitive aims or goals for your career?

My goal is to keep growing as an artist and songwriter and hopefully I can help to inspire some people along the way.

What should we expect from you in the coming weeks and months?

You can expect the release of some brand spanking new music, including my song 'Grown Up' and the possibility of an EP very soon. So keep your eyes peeled! Or should I say, keep your ears open?!

Beauty will release his brand new single 'Grown Up' on September 16 via BeautysMusic.
