Concept

Concept are an up and coming group of singers ready to take on the music industry by storm, and they're now brand ambassadors for new headphones Nutz.

We got the chance to chat with the band about their exciting new roles, their career in the industry so far and where they're planning to go next.

Tell us about your role as Brand Ambassadors for Nutz.

Nutz is committed to helping young unsigned music talent by offering exclusive opportunities to feature on its product packaging. As a Nutz brand ambassador, we will feature on our own specially branded Concept Nutz Budz earphones that will be available to purchase at fonehouse stores across the UK and on the Nutz official website.

The partnership means Concept will have visibility to a mass audience, something that is vital when the band is still growing. In turn, we'll work to promote Nutz to our fans and highlight its core focus of bringing listening to music back to what it should be – fashionable, affordable and enjoyable!

How will your branded Nutz Budz earphones differ to the ones already on sale?

The Concept Nutz Budz earphones will be branded with each band members headshot and the Concept name across the packaging.

How did you find the experience of working on this project?

It's been a really exciting process working with an audio brand that also echoes the messaging of our band - we ultimately want to produce music that people enjoy listening to! Being involved with Nutz is also a perfect chance for up-and-coming artists to raise awareness of their music, which is such a rare opportunity within this competitive industry.

This project lends itself nicely to your career as musicians - what was it that led you down this path in life?

We were led down the path of music because all of us truly love it and are heavily interested in every part of the industry such as songwriting, performing, singing, dancing and live gigs. We appreciate all of its intricacies and it's an important part of all our lives in many ways.

Has music always been a big passion of yours?

Definitely, music has always been a huge passion. Before we started performed together, we all enjoyed listening to music and a few of us sung and played instruments prior to the band - it's always been a part of our lives in some shape or form.

Where do you draw inspiration from as an artist?

A lot of our inspirations as artists come from our families, friends, fans, musical inspirations as well as every day situations and experiences. There's so much around us that we can draw ideas and themes from.

What challenges have you had to face in your career to-date?

As a band trying to break through we have faced a lot of tough challenges to get to where we are. Not being well-known can mean we are sometimes not taken seriously or taken advantage of. During the beginning stages, many people immediately labelled us and stereotyped the band. Fortunately, the entire experience has impacted us in the best way possible, and we drew out all the positives and remained constructive.

Tell us about your single 'Get Down', launching this January.

Get Down is due for release January 26th and relates back to the challenges we've faced, whether they were relationship problems or struggles in the early stages of forming Concept. It covers our experiences over the years, as a band, and kind of sums it all up.

What can we expect from you in the coming months?

We are going to be performing all across the UK, with our two date headline show at the Haymarket in Basingstoke (17th & 18th Of January 2014) close to selling out already. We can't really say too much else as everything is still in planning stages but you can expect to see a lot more of us in 2014!

Where do you hope to be this time next year?

We hope by this time next year Concept will have become a more established act in the industry with an even stronger following. We want to release more music, continue to improve as musicians/performers and learn more about our craft to really hone our skills. We want to make an impact in the charts, create a buzz in the industry and - who knows - maybe even grab a number one! At the moment, the sky is the limit and it will definitely be an eventful and exciting year for us.
