With the cold winter settling in and Christmas fast approaching, good tidings are being brought forth by The Puppini Sisters as they come to the UK with a string of live dates.

We caught up with the three members of the group to find out just a little more about them, their tour and more.

So for those who may not have heard your music before, how best would you describe yourself as an artist?

Kate: We are a retro three part harmony girl group with a swing pop sound and a theatrical flair. Originally inspired by the girl groups of the 1930's and 40's, we have gone onto create our own individual sound and style.

You met in Music College - can you tell us about how the band was formed and the change in your line-up?

Kate: Marcella came up with the concept of the group whilst we were both studying together at Trinity College of Music in London and together with the lovely Rosanna Scuhra, we created the band back in 2004. We have had a couple of changes of line up since then in order to keep the music and stage show fresh and therefore the standard of our performance as high as possible.

What do you believe you bring to the industry that's unique?

Kate: We are very much considered in the industry to be the authorities in three part harmony and the swing era. We write and arrange all of our own songs so the music is very much in our hands.

This year you're spending some of the festive season in the UK for a string of tour dates, what should we expect from these gigs?

Emma: Lots of silliness, lots of magic, lots of classic Christmas tunes with a Puppini twist. You can expect some surprises too!

What is it about Christmas and the songs for the holidays that you love and encouraged you to rework some of the classics?

Emma: What's not to love about Christmas, no matter what you age you are, one is given permission to act like a kid for a month!! Pass the stocking!

When you get some time to yourself this year how will you be spending Christmas?

Emma: Catching up on sleep, catching up with family. Probably eating ourselves into a coma.

Can you tell us about some memorable moments in your career to-date?

Emma: Partying in Moscow after my first ever gig with the girls, we took our heels off and danced all night! it was a great initiation!! Also singing alongside our mate Michael Buble at the O2 last Christmas, 24,000 people felt like a few old friends on stage with him!

If you could work with anybody on a new music project, who would you choose and why?

Marcella: I'd love to work with Odd Future, and make a Swing/Hip Hop musical based on a Stephen King novel. I am obsessed with Hip Hop and horror stories, and I would love to make some spooky harmonies.

What are you hoping to achieve in the coming months going forward?

Marcella: We really want to get more and more into theatrical performance, and are hoping to have a brand new show with a lot more narrative and dancing by the summer. This is something quite new for us, and we are very excited about it.

Are there any exclusives you can tell us and your fans?

Marcella: We are currently working on a new album, which we're going to start recording in the spring. I have been learning to become a producer, and I am fervently hoping to be good enough by then to produce a dance remix of one of the tracks on the album.
