Sisters and frontwomen of The Van T's, Hannah and Chloe Van Thompson are twins with an incredible passion for music. Creating songs both personal and unique, the pair join bassist Joanne Forbes and drummer Shaun Hood in a band that allows each to let their creative juices flow.

We got the chance to chat to Hannah about their musical journey to-date, and what's coming up for them in the future.

For those who may be new to your music, how best would you describe your sound?

We would describe ourselves as Dreamy-Grunge, as well as quite loud!

How difficult would you say this career path is in terms of making a name for yourself?

I would say it's difficult for any new band making a name for themselves. Getting gigs starting out is quite hard when no one has heard of you. The more gigs you do then the more you get recognised. The more you get recognised, then it's easier to release music that people will listen to.

How important is it for you to have creative control over your work?

Very important - it then makes it yours and unique.

Where do you draw influence and inspiration from for your work?

I think we draw influence from each other as a band, bouncing ideas off each other. We do draw influence and inspiration from a lot of other bands too like, Wolf Alice, Bleached, Honeyblood, The Pixies and a lot more.

If you could collaborate with anybody, who would you choose and why?

In all seriousness George Michael. Just so we could remake 'Club Tropicana', it would be a hit, again!

Tell us a random, funny fact about you that not many know.

Our drummer Shaun is the only male in the band and sometimes dresses like a girl for some shows, just so he doesn't feel left out of the girl-mania! It doesn't happen often, just when he feels like it. It's very funny to watch.

Do you have definitive aims or goals for your career?

Just for people to listen to our music and enjoy it.

Where do you hope to be this time next year?

Hopefully play more festivals, as we loved them this year. We aim to release a few more tracks before working on the album.

What should we expect from you in the coming weeks and months?

The release of the four-track EP 'Laguna Babe', but before then a few shows in Glasgow that we are very excited for. We also have our first tour coming up which we have yet to announce. Very exciting.
