Hip-hop entrepreneur 50 Cent was forced to shelve plans to launch a new safe sex campaign after his design for a revolutionary new condom failed to stand up scientifically.
The In Da Club hitmaker admits he wanted to market his own brand of contraception to encourage fans to be responsible in the bedroom - because the U.S.-wide Wrap It Up ad campaign, which promotes safe sex, was no longer having the same impact on youngsters.
50 Cent confesses he wanted to enhance users' sexual pleasure at the same time by adding chemicals to the condom to boost men's performance - but his idea failed because scientists couldn't come up with a viable solution.
He says, "I was looking for the opportunity to create a new safe sex campaign. The Wrap It Up campaign is something that is used so often, it wasn't effective anymore. So I thought this is a great opportunity for me to get involved.
But it just didn't work out because I wanted things in it that wouldn't work. I wanted things that would prolong sexual performance. You could just put it on and just go.

The Rap superstar is also said to be desperate to offload his multi-million dollar property in Connecticut, because he has never felt "at home" in the sprawling estate.
The In Da Club hitmaker bought the 19 bedroom, 37 bathroom mansion in Farmington from retired boxer Mike Tyson in 2003 for $5 million (£3.13 million).
But 50 Cent always feels like he's staying in a hotel when he returns home, because the place is so big, it even has its own club.
The rapper admits he's enjoyed hosting parties for hundreds of friends, but he's desperate to move out so he can settle down in a smaller, cosier pad.
He says, "That's why I'm downsizing, I need somewhere where I can feel at home. It feels like I'm in a hotel. There's a nightclub. You know how people have like a focus group? I have that for my music, like, 1500 people and play it (new songs). The neighbours are so far away they can't even hear us."
However, the hip-hop star may face a long wait before he can get rid of the property - he put the mansion up for sale in 2007 with an asking price of $18.5 million (£11.6 million) after spending a fortune on improvements.
Two years later, the property is still on the market - despite 50 Cent slashing a further $3.6 million (£2.25 million) off the asking price.
