Burke's Brother Denies Assaulting Mother

Alexandra Burke's brother has appeared in court to deny allegations he assaulted their singer mother.

The British pop star's mom, former Soul II Soul star Melissa Bell, claimed to have been involved in an altercation with her son Aaron Burke lastmonth (Dec11).

Aaron appeared in court in London on Wednesday (25Jan12) to deny two charges of common assault and he was remanded in custody until 22 February (12), according to Britain's The Sun.

Bell has since moved to withdraw her witness statement and District Judge Ian Baker told Highbury Corner Magistrates Court, "She thinks he has mental health problems and needs anger management help and maybe drug rehabilitation".
