American Idol: It’s A Fix!

Here at FemaleFirst, we’re always eager to get to the bottom of a greasy rumour, so when we heard that American Idol 2009 was actually all a fix, we were determined to get to the bottom of it!

Indeed the New York Daily News might claim that the shows judges, Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul, Randy Jackson and Kara DioGuardi, have already chosen their favourite contestants who they plan on sailing through to the final rounds.

The chosen few are none other than Lil Rounds, Alexis Grace, Adam Lambert and FemaleFirst’s favourite, Danny Gokey (he is a little bit super hot!) and whilst these singers are nothing short of brilliant… surely getting the public to ring up and vote for them when they’re safe anyway is a little unethical?

The other side of the coin though, is that would the show really risk it’s reputation by fixing the votes, and what’s more, what exactly would they get out of rigging the results?

Anyway, regardless of what Simon and friends are up to, they were keen to criticise the ‘chosen ones’ on Tuesday’s show with Lil Rounds’ name escaping Mr Nasty, who dubbed her both “Little” and “Lil” and saying he wanted her to be more like Mary J. Blige.

Next up was Alexis Grace, who Randy Jackson thought went over the top with her Dolly Parton song, making it too much blues and not enough country, whilst she lost her pitch in the middle.

Bizarrely, Adam Lambert decided to completely ignore the country theme and carried off a mental version of the song, Ring Of Fire, leaving guest mentor Randy Travis puzzled as to whether it was all a joke!

I almost shed a little tear when they laid into Danny after he took on Carrie Underwood’s “Jesus Take The Wheel,” okay, so they didn’t really slag him off that much; just the beginning bit… but still I don’t want to hear a bad word said about the little starlet.
