No Bocelli Duet for Simpson

Jessica Simpson's dream of duetting with Andrea Bocelli for her upcoming Christmas album has been dashed - the opera singer will not be part of the compilation due to his busy schedule.

The pop star and actress was said to have recruited the classical musician, as well as pal Willie Nelson, for her festive release.

But Bocelli's representative has moved swiftly to deny the report, revealing the star was never slated to record with Simpson.

The rep tells E! Online, "We were indeed approached by her management awhile ago, but Mr Bocelli's current recording and performing schedule does not allow him to add on new engagements.

"We told Jessica's management yesterday that the duet cannot happen. But we all wish her great success with the Christmas album".
