Sheffield lads the Artic Monkeys have scored their second No.1 hit on the UK single charts with new single ‘When The Sun Goes Down’ even though their debut album is only being released today (23/01/06)
The band, whose debut single 'I Bet You Look Good On The Dancefloor' also went straight to number one in October, beat strong competition from the likes of Biggie Small, P. Diddy and Nelly whose 'Nasty Girl' is at number two, Willy Young's 'All Time Love' at number three and Beyonce's 'Check On It' from the upcoming Pink Panther film which took the number four spot.
They Monkey's also managed to knock X-Factor winner Shayne Ward, who'd held onto the number one spot for five consecutive weeks off the top of the charts. Shayne's song, That's My Goal' is this week’s number five.
Today the Artic Monkeys will release their eagerly anticipated debut album 'Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not' and are nominated for Best British Breakthrough Act at this years Brit Awards.
