Folk legends Simon and Garfunkel have confirmed plans for their first Australasian shows since 1983 as part of a summer reunion tour.

The duo, Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel, will kick off shows in New Zealand on 13 June (09), adding dates in Australia.

Further international dates have yet to be announced.

Thrilled promoter Michael Chugg says, "It's been 25 years since they've been here and I'd put money on the table this will likely be the last time for us with these two legends together".

Speculation about another Simon and Garfunkel reunion began after the duo played a surprise mini-reunion gig at New York's Beacon Theatre in February (09).

The pair performed The Sound of Silence, The Boxer and Old Friends during the encore of what was a Paul Simon show.

The duo reunited for the Old Friends tour in 2004
