Ashton Kutcher is urging the U.S. government not to intervene in the crisis in Iran - because he fears a repeat of the Iraq war.

Officials in Tehran are monitoring social networking sites including Twitter.com and Facebook following violent demonstrations over the controversial re-election of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad last week (12Jun09).

Kutcher has taken to his Twitter blog to voice support for the Iranian people - and urge U.S. officials not to get involved in the uprising.

Considering how well fighting 4 freedom in Iraq went, I dont know that we should B jumping in2 this Iran deal

He writes "Considering how well fighting 4 freedom in Iraq went, I dont know that we should B jumping in 2 this Iran deal. I think that truly the only people that can change things in Iran are the Iranians themselves and they seem to be speaking their minds now".

The Just Married star, who has more than one million Twitter followers,is also advising fellow users of the website to change their IP address to one listed in the Iranian capital - to confuse officials monitoring bloggers.

And his wife Moore has also used Twitter to show her support for Iranian protesters "My heart aches but I am inspired by the courage and strength of the Iranian people in the face of such opposition and adversity!"

It's not the first time the Hollywood couple has taken to their Twitterblogs to speak out on political issues - earlier this month (Jun09) Kutcher used the site to air his views on two U.S. journalists imprisoned in North Korea.
