CORNELL CONQUERS ALCOHOL HELLAUDIOSLAVE frontman CHRIS CORNELL insists he is a new man after ditching his debilitating drinking habit.The troubled rocker changed his debauched ways just before working on the band's upcoming album OUT OF EXILE, and was amazed he managed to get through the gruelling recording schedule without turning to the bottle. He says, "Getting cleaned up changed a lot for me... This is the first time I've ever sang on a record without needing a drink."I just couldn't get my bearings at first. There was always something there that I've always strived for that I could never achieve when I was drinking."Who knows if people will hear a difference. I'm not the kind of person who wants to know or sit back and analyse things."But I'm a new man now."
